This page lists the cookies and similar storage Seconds uses, what each is for, and how to control them. It is part of our Privacy Notice.

Strictly necessary

These make the service work. They are set without asking, because the site cannot function without them.

• Sign-in session — keeps you signed in between page loads. Cleared when you sign out.
• Security and rate-limiting tokens — protect sign-up, sign-in and payment flows from abuse.
• Cookie consent (sec_consent) — remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner: a random reference, the date, and which categories you allowed, so we do not ask again.

Preferences

A few small conveniences we keep only in your browser: your camera and microphone choice, creators you have recently viewed, and call notes you have dismissed. None of this is sent to us, and it never leaves your device.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Segment to understand how the service is used — pages viewed, features used, and whether a visit that started from one of our emails led to an account. Analytics never receives your email address or the attribution token described below.

The Segment script itself is not loaded at all until you allow analytics — not loaded and muted, not loaded. So no analytics cookie or identifier is written before then. Declining stops the script from ever loading; withdrawing consent after the fact clears any analytics identifier already on your device.

Attribution

If you arrive at Seconds by following a link in an email we sent you, we set one first-party cookie, sec_ot, on seconds.me. It holds a random token and a campaign reference — nothing that identifies you on its own — and lets us know, if you later create an account, that this email is what brought you here. It is set once (a later visit does not overwrite it), lasts up to 90 days, is never shared with third parties, and is removed the moment you sign up.

This is not strictly necessary storage, and we have not added a separate consent category for it — a fourth choice in an already short list, for a cookie almost no visitor ever encounters. So outside the EU, EEA and UK it is set automatically, the same as the cookies above. In the EU, EEA and UK, we do not set this cookie at all — no email attribution is collected for visitors there.

Where you will see a cookie banner

We show the cookie banner to visitors in the EU, EEA and UK, because the law there requires we ask before setting anything beyond what is strictly necessary. We do not show it anywhere else, including anywhere in the United States — no US state privacy law uses that opt-in model. Outside the EU, EEA and UK, Preferences and Analytics are on by default, and you can turn either off at any time from this page.

Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signal everywhere, not only where the law requires it. If your browser or an extension sends it, analytics stays off regardless of any other setting — including a prior choice to allow it.

Managing your choices

You can change your mind at any time.

You can also block or delete cookies for seconds.me directly in your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
